Bìade is a versatile two-component design that can be both a chair and a side table. It presents an innovative method of combining seat and backrest without requiring any additional hardware like screws or glue.

The backrest attachment method and the use of only two components, minimizes the required manufacturing processes.

Bìade offers the additional possibility to have a cotton cover for the backrest, giving users the option to personalize the product.

Bìade has been completely produced in the Veneto region and is an example of a made in Italy design that brings innovation to an international market.

Social Sustainability

A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) found that the product has a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 14.8 kg CO₂e, using the IPCC 2021 GWP100 methodology. This is equivalent to driving 58 km in a small diesel-powered car.

The backrest cover is made in collaboration with Officina delle API, a tailoring workshop run by Domus Nostra Community. Domus Nostra supports women and mothers who are survivors of violence or trafficking by providing shelter and opportunities for social and professional empowerment. Officina delle API helps participants build skills for a more independent and dignified future.
